Aide d’urgence pour l’amélioration alimentaire et le renforcement de capacités de personnes déplacées internes et hôtes.
Dédougou.
Organisation Catholique pour le Développement et la Solidarité (OCADES) Dédougou.
As in other regions affected by the humanitarian crisis in Burkina Faso, the security situation in the Boucle du Mouhoun has deteriorated enormously since October 2021. Attacks on civilians by unidentified armed men have increased the number of internally displaced persons in the town of Dédougou. These people are being accommodated in rented houses, tents or with host families, putting great pressure on the host population’s food reserves, water and sanitation infrastructure and household items. This is severely reducing the already fragile livelihoods of these people, who depend mainly on agriculture and pastoralism. What’s more, in the long term this situation is likely to undermine social cohesion and the values of solidarity and mutual aid.
Assisting internally displaced people and affected host households with food rations in Dédougou and building the capacity of internaly displaced people in agro-ecology.
